Accepting Credit Card Payments
Schools, departments, and administrative units at Tufts can arrange to accept credit card payments in their offices, at events, and online. Follow the steps below to get started.
Get Started
Step 1: Determine Your Business Needs
Depending on the types of goods or services you’ll be selling, you can accept credit card payments in person and/or online. Consider how, when, and where you will need to process payments. Common items that can be paid for via credit card at Tufts include:
- Event tickets
- Conference registrations
- Continuing education courses
- Branded merchandise
- Organization fees and dues
- Donations
Step 2: Select a Processing Method
Accept In-Person Credit Card Payments
- If you’ll need to accept payments in your office, at on-site events, or anywhere that you’ll need to physically scan credit cards, you must complete the Merchant Department Application. The Treasury team will work with you to determine your needs and get the equipment you’ll need to accept payments. Learn more about accepting in-person credit card payments.
