The University complies with Occupational Safety guidelines under the Massachusetts Industrial Accident Board’s regulation as well as any other applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and guidelines. Any illness or injury should be reported as soon as possible after the event occurs, as outlined below.
All Tufts community members must immediately report any accident or injury occurring while working. An Employer’s First Report of Injury Report form must be completed immediately so that the University may take appropriate action. The form must be signed by the employee’s supervisor and sent to the Office of Insurance and Risk Management at RiskManagement@tufts.edu. Timely reporting is essential as failure to report an accident or injury in a timely fashion may result in a fine to the University and may affect the employee’s ability to prove the nature of the injury.
