Atlassian Navigation is Changing
Posted: May 14, 2025

Effective, Monday, August 4, the navigation system in Jira and Confluence (issue tracking, project management, collaboration, and documentation tools) will be updated to provide a more streamlined and consistent user experience across both platforms.
What’s Changing?
- Top bar menu items (such as Projects and Dashboards) will be moved to a new customizable, resizable, and collapsible sidebar.
- The top bar will now focus on Search and Create functions.
- In Jira, project navigation will switch to horizontal tabs that can be customized by project admins.
- In Confluence, the "Home" page will be renamed to “For You”, and starred pages will now be visible in the sidebar, even when not in a specific space.
How to Prepare:
- Explore the Atlassian Content Hub for helpful resources on the new navigation.
- Watch the “New Navigation in 1 Minute” video for a quick introduction.
Questions or Feedback?
If you have any questions or would like to provide feedback, send email to Rob Piscitello. You can also use the "Give Feedback" button in the sidebar of the new navigation to provide direct feedback to Atlassian.
