Did You Know You Can Now Build Forms with Built-in Workflow with Kuali Build?

Are you tired of using PDF forms that need to be manually emailed around for signature approvals? Well now there is a better option. Tufts Technology Services (TTS) has launched a new service - Kuali Build - offering an easy way to build forms with automated approval processing workflows!
What is Kuali Build?
Kuali Build is a cloud-hosted, no-code platform for creating online smart forms and approval workflows.
The application allows you to transform current processes by creating forms and workflows with integration that collect feedback and business information, create approval pathways, notify users of where things are in the pipeline, and ultimately enables a responsive user experience.
Rob Tedesco, Associate Director of Academic Affairs at Fletcher created and is using a Time-off Request form, and he said that Fletcher also has some other forms in development.
"Kuali Build is an easy to use University system that can be adapted for many different applications. The fact that it also integrated with university systems as well makes it very useful, as well as the workflow process as well. I can certainly see Fletcher using this new tool in many exciting ways."
In addition to the Time Off Request form in Fletcher, there are currently other live apps (forms) being used at Tufts:
- Computer Request form (TTS pilot)
- Wire Transfer Form for International Vendors (Tufts Support Services - TSS)
- Affiliation Agreement Proposal (Provost Office)
- RAS Support Request which creates a ServiceNow ticket (Office of the Vice Provost for Research - OVPR)
Kuali Build also allows for us to set up workspaces for your business area and for forms like Time-off Request that Fletcher is using, we will create templates that can be shared in other areas.
Using Kuali Build
All Faculty, Staff, and Students at Tufts have access to use complete forms built in Kuali build. If you want to build apps/forms using Kuali Build, you will need training and build permissions added to your account.
Excited to get some of those forms built in Kuali Build? First, email kuali-build-support@elist.tufts.edu to schedule a consultation to determine if Kuali Build is the right solution for your needs. Next you will need to take an instructor-led training course before you are granted build permissions. These courses are offered monthly and you can register in the Tufts Learning Center by searching for Kuali Build.
Note: TTS will be using a train-the-trainer model and some schools/departments have already assigned in-house expert/Champions who will be able to train staff in their areas.
Once you've completed the training and your build permissions are granted, you can use Kuali Build to begin building your apps/forms.
