Tufts Technology Services Design and Digital Solutions is excited to introduce the next phase of the Faculty Information System profile integration with school and departmental websites across Tufts University - a refreshed and modern design of our Faculty Display Cards that showcase our prestigious faculty across our websites in a uniformed, scalable, automated format that is also easier to support. Initially launched in its first phase in 2021, this integration has provided prospective and current students, researchers, alumni, and industry leaders across the globe with a valuable snapshot of the strength of our faculty, their areas of research, becoming one of the prominent sources of content on our websites.
This launch will be conducted in two releases. In the first release on Thursday, April 4th, we will introduce the revised faculty display card format that elevates the image via a standardized look and streamlines key information to optimize browsing experience.
Key features include:
- Standardized photo size with user-selected crop (from Elements)
- Display of one primary appointment title that unifies the initial presentation
- A clean format with distinct sections, line spacing, font treatments and iconography
- Mobile friendly linkage for improved user experience
- Minimum-height guidelines that provide a consistent look across the university.
With the second release occurring shortly after, we will import this new look onto faculty profile pages within the Drupal websites and introduce an elevated visual design, in-page navigation, display of full biography (up to 4,000 characters), as well as optional preferred media contact links.
This unified and upgraded design of our faculty cards and profiles elevate the prestige of highly regarded Tufts faculty across the university and we appreciate your patience as we continue to improve the experience of this vital content.
