Enhanced Security for Tufts Directory
In our ongoing commitment to ensuring the security and privacy of our digital resources, we're excited to announce security enhancements to the Tufts Directory (directory.tufts.edu).
The Tufts Technology Services (TTS) Design & Digital Solutions team has been diligently working to implement advanced security features on our directory platform. We understand the importance of this service to our community and have taken proactive steps to address concerns and optimize user experience.
One of the key updates we're pleased to share is the full restoration of access to student entries within the directory. However, to better safeguard sensitive information, users are now required to authenticate using their Tufts credentials via the Log In button in order to search for students. This additional layer of security ensures that only authorized individuals have access to student records.
For our anonymous users, it's important to note that student records will remain suppressed and additional measures have been taken to protect faculty, staff, and student data against potential threats from malicious bots.
We firmly believe that these initial measures represent a significant step forward in bolstering the security of the Tufts Directory. However, our commitment to ongoing improvement remains unwavering. We will continue to test, monitor behaviors, and plan additional enhancements in response to the community's feedback and the evolving security landscape.
Your security and privacy are paramount to us. We're dedicated to ensuring that the Tufts Directory remains a trusted and reliable resource for everyone in our community.
