Tufts has contracted with a trusted organization, KGA Inc., to provide free and confidential counseling and referrals to Tufts employees and their adult household members on personal and professional issues, work and family life, health and wellness, and other work/life issues.

How can I access the Tufts Employee Assistance Program?

You can connect to the employee assistance program (EAP) online through the KGA website.
User name: tuftsu
Password: 9557

You can also reach the program by calling 800-648-9557.

What kind of problems does the EAP help with?

The EAP can help with any type of problem that affects your personal health and happiness or your work and family life. This includes stress, conflicts in your relationship, parent/child matters, elder issues, financial or legal concerns, and problems caused by alcohol or drugs.

Is the EAP confidential?

Yes. The program is confidential and voluntary. No one will know that you have used the program unless you choose to tell them. Nothing is included in your medical record or personnel file.

What does it cost?

There is no charge to you and your adult household members. If you are referred to services outside the scope of the EAP or beyond the limit offered by Tufts, any related charges will be your responsibility. KGA will always to their best to refer you to a counselor that also accepts your health insurance.

How does the EAP work?

Simply call the toll-free number, 800-648-9557. An EAP counselor will be available to speak to you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. During the first conversation, the counselor will gather information, evaluate your needs, and suggest a plan of action.

What happens next depends on your unique situation. An EAP counselor will arrange in-person, phone, or video counseling so you can discuss your concerns in depth. If in-person counseling is agreed upon, the meeting will take place in a convenient, private office.

Appointments are available day and evening at convenient locations throughout the United States and Canada.

Who is eligible to use the EAP?

All Tufts employees and adult household members can use the service.

What resources are available on the EAP website?
