I'm a New Employee

On behalf of everyone at Tufts, welcome to our team. Each member of the Tufts community contributes to our core mission of teaching, research, and service, and we work hard to make Tufts a rewarding place to build a career. The resources on this page will help you get settled and take advantage of the many opportunities Tufts has to offer.

  • I-9 Employment Verification
    First things first. You should have received an email to complete electronic sign on, and complete the first half of the I-9 Employment Verification form. You must bring your I-9 verification documents to orientation on your first day or visit Tufts Support Services in person by the third business day after your hire date so you can be added to payroll.
  • New Hire Orientation
    Every new staff employee must attend orientation, which is offered on each campus. This full-day seminar will introduce you to the mission, culture, and values of Tufts. At orientation, you'll also learn more about the benefits available to you as a Tufts employee. For more information about orientation, contact Tufts Support Services.
  • Employee Resources
    When you attend the new-employee orientation, you are automatically enrolled in a training series for new employees. The curriculum includes helpful resources and information about Tufts and some important documents on university policies that are pertinent to all Tufts employees. To access this information, log in to the Tufts Learning Center, click on "Browse Library" and under Tufts Training choose "Employee Resources." Any current employee may enroll in this training at any time.
  • Your Tufts Username and Password
    Your Tufts username and Tufts password are the gateway to a wide range of technology services and resources. These credentials will be assigned to you by Tufts Technology Services on or before your start date.
  • Employee Email
    Tufts University's email and calendar service for staff and faculty is Microsoft Exchange. You will receive an Exchange account when your Tufts username is created.
  • Computer and Phone/Voicemail
    Your manager will coordinate with Tufts Technology Services to have a computer and phone (with voicemail) set up for you on your first day of work. You can learn more about computing at Tufts and register for upcoming technology trainings on the Tufts Technology Services website.
