I-9 Reverification
If an employee continues to work for Tufts and their work authorization documents are due to expire, an I-9 Reverification will need to be processed. The I-9 Reverification needs to be updated with newly approved documents or with the receipt notice showing the employee timely filed for an extension on or before the date that the current work authorization expires.
When do I need to reverify my I-9?
You can verify as soon as 90 days before the expiration of your previous documents, but it will need to be completed before your documents expire.
How do I complete an I-9 Reverification?
You will receive an email letting you know that your documents are expiring. If you believe you need to reverify, but have not yet received an email prompting you to complete an I-9 Reverification, please email TSS@tufts.edu.
Steps to complete an I-9 Reverification
- Tufts Support Services (TSS) will initiate the steps needed to reverify.
- Reverification is completed via I-9 Everywhere. You will receive an email with instructions on completing Section 3 ("Reverification") from I-9Everywhere.
- Complete the steps, including the in-person inspection of your documents.
