I Need to Take a Leave of Absence
Tufts provides a range of options if you need to take time away from your job to care for yourself or your family. We also offer other resources that may be helpful if you or a loved one needs extra support.
Tufts Policies and Benefits
Review Employee Policies & Procedures to learn about your options for requesting Time Off or Taking a Leave to care for yourself or another family member. If you need to be absent immediately, notify your supervisor per your department’s call-in procedures. You do not need to share details of your or your family member’s medical condition or military service; however, you are expected to discuss work coverage with your supervisor and to keep your supervisor informed regarding the anticipated duration of your absence and intent to return to work.
Long-Term Disability
Tufts’ long-term disability plan can help cover your financial needs if you are unable to work for a period of time.
