Mask Recycling
UPDATE (1.3.24): With the removal of mask requirements on Tufts campuses, the mask recycling initiative has scaled down. A limited number of mask recycling bins exist in hospital and lab settings where medical masks are still required.

During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, mask recycling boxes were placed on all of Tufts campuses to divert thousands of single-use masks from landfills and incinerators. Funded by the Tufts Green Fund, this initiative sent disposable masks to be recycled into outdoor furniture, pallets, storage containers, and other products.
