- Members don't need a physical ID card to use benefits. Providers can confirm coverage contacting BCBS with the member's SSN or Subscriber Id #.
- Members have the option to download the BCBS MyBlue App, which allows them to access a virtual ID card, check claims and cost-sharing responsibility, offers a provider search tool, and view costs and benefits.
- Health plan enrollment information is sent electronically to the carrier every Tuesday. When the enrollment is entered in the system will determine when the information is sent to the carriers.
- Faculty/Staff enrolled in a BCBS health plan are auto-enrolled in the CVS pharmacy plan, and will receive a set of ID cards from both BCBS (medical ID cards), and CVS Caremark (pharmacy ID cards).
- Postdoctoral Scholars enrolled in a BCBS health plan will receive ID cards from BCBS (for medical & pharmacy).

- Subscribers may request additional ID cards by contacting Delta Denta by phone: 800-872-0500
- Members have the option to download the Delta mobile app, which allows them to access a virtual ID card, offers a provider search tool, appointment scheduling tool (with participating providers) and the ability to view claims history and plan coverage.

When will my cards arrive?
- Medical:

In which situations will new cards be issued?
Medical:
- When new subscribers or dependents have been enrolled
- If plan type has changed (PPO, PPO Plus, HDHP), new cards will be issued with updated group numbers
- If subscriber and/or dependents move groups (Active to COBRA or Retiree), new cards will be issued with updated group numbers
Dental:
- When new subscribers have been enrolled, two cards per family are sent with only the main subscriber's name (i.e. employee's name) on the cards (new card is NOT issued if new dependents are added - cards can be shared)
Vision:
- When new subscribers have been enrolled, two cards per family are sent with only the main subscriber's name (i.e. employee's name) on the cards (new card is NOT issued if new dependents are added - cards can be shared)
All:
- Carrier update or modification
Where will my cards be sent?
Your cards will be sent to the Home Address listed in eServe. However, if the home address listed is outside the USA, then the mailing address will be used. If both the mailing address and the home address are outside the USA, the cards will be sent to the home address.
