This policy applies to hourly, non-exempt staff positions not otherwise covered by collective bargaining agreement.
There are occasions when a temporarily increased workload or other compelling reason may require that you work more than your regularly scheduled number of hours. When possible, advance notification of these mandatory assignments will be provided. The opportunity to work overtime is at the discretion of your manager and is based on departmental needs. If you are non-exempt/hourly, any hours exceeding your normally scheduled hours must be pre-approved in advance by your supervisor. If you are an hourly employee who works overtime without authorization you may be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
As an hourly worker, you are eligible for overtime pay. Exempt employees are not entitled to and do not receive overtime pay.
If you are an hourly worker, you are paid at your regular hourly rate for up to forty (40) hours in one work week, unless otherwise required by applicable law. Hours worked beyond forty (40) in one work week will be paid at one and one-half times the regular rate, unless otherwise required by applicable law.
