Parking FAQs
Frequently asked questions about parking on Tufts campuses.
How will I know when to renew my permit?
Three days prior to the end of your parking permit, you will receive a notification from Sentry Mobile Parking to the email address you provided.
When vendors, city inspectors, and emergency services visit the campus, will they receive a citation?
A 30-minute grace period is provided prior to generating a violation. If a permit was not created for the vehicle prior to or within that grace period, a ticket is generated. Vehicles that are clearly marked as emergency vehicles will not be ticketed.
How does the automated violation process work?
If a parker pulls into a lot without a valid permit, the parker has a 30-minute grace period to purchase a permit. When the 30-minute period expires, a violation is generated. At the end of the day, a reconciliation process happens. If the parker purchased a permit that same day (but after the grace period expired), then the automated violation is voided. If the parker leaves the lot without purchasing a permit, then the violation is sent to the vehicle owner’s registered address.
I’m visiting another campus from the Boston campus. What do I need to park?
Any valid permit holders from the Boston Health Sciences campus will not be required to purchase a permit while on the Medford/Somerville campus. Please fill out the Shared Campus Parking Permit form on our website that will grant temporary access to our Medford/Somerville campus. We require 72 hours’ notice prior to arriving on campus.
How do I purchase a parking permit?
- Parking permits can be purchased on our website.
- Visitors can buy daily parking permits at any of the kiosks found in Dowling Garage. Please note, the kiosks only provide daily $20 parking permits. If you would like to purchase hourly or monthly permits, that can be completed on the Sentry Mobile Parking app or the website.
- Payroll deduction is available for employees with pre-tax benefits. If interested, you can purchase a monthly permit on the website. You will select “Payroll Deduction” as your method of payment and select the box for auto-renew if you would like your permit automatically renewed every month. PDF forms have been discontinued.
My car is in the shop, but I have a loaner vehicle. What should I do?
Please email assistance@mpspark.com with the vehicle details. They will need a 24-hour notice to add the vehicle to the account. MPS Park will be able to add your loaner vehicle to your account as a secondary vehicle.
