Permit Purchasing and Use
Eligible users may purchase parking permits through our secure webportal utilizing their Tufts credentials. Permits may be purchased at an hourly, daily, or monthly rate depending on the user’s needs and permit eligibility. All permits are virtual (except Grafton campus permits) and are enforced based on the license plate of the user’s vehicle. Up to two vehicles may be registered under the same permit as long as only one of these vehicles is parked in Tufts University facilities at any given time. Please ensure that license plate information is entered accurately when purchasing permits. As long as a valid permit has been purchased with the correct vehicle license plate information, no additional signage or tags are needed.
Permits are valid for the duration specified upon purchase. Users may purchase parking permits using any valid credit or debit card.
Tufts employees have additional options to purchase parking permits using pre-tax dollars via the below programs:
-
Pretax employee payroll deduction with automatic renewal through our secure webportal. This option is available only for monthly permits.
-
Payment via the pretax transportation benefits card offered to Tufts employees. This transportation benefits card functions as a debit card and is loaded with pretax dollars on a monthly basis. These dollars may be used to purchase public transportation fares or parking permits at the user’s discretion. See the Commuter Benefits page for more details.
Once purchased, permits are valid in any applicable Tufts University parking facility on the relevant campus. Please note that some Tufts University parking spaces have additional regulations. Some Tufts University parking facilities are for employees only, while others are also open to students and visitors. It is the user’s responsibility to review all posted signage to ensure that their vehicle is parked in an eligible space based on their permit type. See the Parking Maps page for details on where Tufts employees, students, and visitors may park on each campus.
