SafeRide Services
The Tufts SafeRide Program is intended to provide the Tufts community with safe transportation if unforeseen circumstances put you in a situation where you need assistance traveling across campus or to your residence.
Remember, you should always have a plan for your travel needs; walking, riding, driving, carpooling, Tufts Shuttles, public transit, or bike and ride share programs are all great options to consider when planning.
When traveling to or from Tufts University classes, programs, or events, and you find yourself in a situation where it would not be safe or prudent to use your previously planned travel methods, please utilize the Tufts SafeRide program.
Please note:
- Improper SafeRide Usage
- SafeRide is only for use when unforeseen circumstances put students in an unsafe situation. All students are expected to coordinate and plan their own travel – SafeRide is not a replacement for travel planning. Weather is not an unforeseen circumstance.
- Medical Issues
- SafeRide is not intended for use in the event of an emergency medical situation. Students with an emergency medical issue should call the TUPD emergency line at 617-627-6911 or dial 911.
This program is not to be used if you are in immediate danger, an emergency medical situation or if you need immediate Police assistance.
If you require emergency assistance, please contact the Tufts University Police immediately at x66911 from any campus phone or an off-campus or cellular phone:
(Medford/Somerville) 617-627-6911.
