SMFA Shuttle

The School of the Museum of Fine Arts (SMFA) At Tufts provides regularly scheduled shuttle trips between the SMFA campus and the Medford Campus during the academic year for both the fall and spring semester. Shuttle services may be suspended during University closures, holidays or snow emergencies.

Starting for the Fall 2024 semester, the MBTA and Tufts have launched the SMFA Upass pilot program providing free MBTA passes for all SMFA students. The MBTA is another great option for transportation between the Medford/Somerville campus and the SMFA campus.

• Service Days and Hours:
  • Monday - Friday: 7:25AM - 11PM (last shuttle departs Medford at 10:00PM and SMFA at 10:05PM)
  • Saturday & Sunday: 11AM - 10PM (last shuttle departs Medford at 9:00PM and SMFA at 10:00PM)
• Route:
  • Inbound (Mon- Fri before 7 PM): Granoff >> Tisch Gym >> SMFA
  • Inbound (Mon-Fri after 7 PM): Granoff >> Tisch Gym >> NEC >> SMFA >> Beacon St. >> SMFA
  • Outbound: SMFA >> NEC >> Tisch Gym >> Granoff 
• Frequency: Every Hour

SMFA Beacon Direct

• Fall Semester service runs 9/3 - 12/22
• Service Days and Hours:
  • Monday - Friday: 7:30AM - 11:30AM & 4PM-8PM
• Route: Beacon Street Residence Hall ↔ SMFA
• Frequency: Continuous loop, about every 10 Minutes
