Tableau Server: Provides online access for staff and faculty to administrative reports and dashboards. Access using the OPEN button below.
Tableau Desktop: A desktop software use to create data visualizations and combine data sets to produce reports, graphs, maps, animated visualizations and more. Learn more about how to access in the Getting Started section.
Get Started
Some Tableau reports are available to all Tufts faculty and staff at tableau.uit.tufts.edu. To obtain access to specific data sets, submit a request to the Data Warehouse team at bi-service@tufts.edu.
To see data pertaining to specific DEPT IDs, please contact budgetandplanning@tufts.edu.
Departments wishing to purchase Tableau desktop software for administrative use must purchase a license. Submit a request to Tufts Technology Services or call 617-627-3376.
Tufts students and faculty can install Tableau on their personal computers for free. Tableau Desktop can be used in coursework, projects, and research to integrate data skills into your teaching and learning at Tufts.
To access the software, you can either install it locally, or use remote computing.

Install Tableau Desktop locally: Visit the Tableau Academic site and register using your Tufts email address. This will provide a one-year license from the date you register (for academic use only).

Use Tableau Desktop remotely: You can access Tableau Desktop remotely via VDI Engineering Lab & Virtual Lab. Learn more about how to access TTS VDI.
