    Technology for Teaching

    Tufts provides faculty and instructors with a range of tools, platforms, and resources to support teaching, learning, and scholarly collaboration with technology at Tufts.  Tufts also offers training and support in using these tools online, and in the facilities you are teaching in.     • Educational Technology Services - for educational tools and platforms we provide and support

    • SMFA Studio Resources - for art studio technology support and services
    • Research Technology - for research-related tools, training, and support

    Contingencies are designed to support continued teaching and learning when normal class schedules are disrupted due to absences or other external factors.

    Core Platforms

    • Canvas - University-wide learning management system (LMS) for designing, offering, and managing courses

    • Student Information System (SIS) - Provides students with course catalogs, schedules and registration, financial aid information, grades and transcripts, and more

    • Zoom - To host and record classes, webinars, and meetings online

    • Blue - Course evaluation system for all registered Tufts courses

    Canvas Features & Tools

    Tufts provides and supports a range of Canvas features and tools for facilitating synchronous and asynchronous activities with your students. Learn about Canvas' Discussions, Assignments, Reading Lists, Modules, Groups, SpeedGrader, and many others.

    Video and Lecture Capture 

    Learn what tools to use to capture lectures, make short videos, and add notes and sketches over a presentation or video. Learn about the flipped classroom, how to make studio-quality recordings of lectures, and share videos with or from students.

    • Zoom - Schedule, record, and share video of online classes, webinars, and meetings.

    • Echo360 - Record, edit, and publish live lectures and screencasts.

    • Kaltura Tools (Media Gallery and My Media) - Create, upload, and share video, audio, and other media for use in Canvas course sites.

    • AV Services - Request support for classrooms, meetings, and events on all Tufts campuses.
