This policy applies to all staff, temporary staff, staff affiliates or any other members of the Tufts community, excluding those who are otherwise covered by a collective bargaining agreement.
The University is committed to engaging each employee for the purposes of coaching, feedback and development. There are occasions when, despite all efforts, the employee may be terminated for performance, attendance and or behavior. This policy speaks to those occasions.
There are various reasons why an employee may be terminated involuntarily. Some examples include: inability to attain or maintain the required level of performance in the job; failure to comply with required policies and procedures or standards of professional behavior or conduct applicable to employment; or repeated failure to perform required duties.
