Tufts Manager Development Certificate Program

Are you a new manager at Tufts? Have you been in a manager role for a while, but would like to enhance or refresh some skills? Are you thinking about a manager career track?

Certificate Program Goal

The Tufts Manager Development Certificate Program will provide managers and those considering a manager career track the opportunity to earn a certificate through the completion of training programs and networking forums designed to develop the skills and competencies to be an effective leader and manager at Tufts.  

Tufts Manager Development Certificate Program Overview

The Certificate Program requires the completion of approximately 85 hours of training and networking activities. While participants may complete the Certificate Program at their own pace, the program is expected to take around 12 to 18 months to complete. The training events in the certificate program are organized in the following modules.

Module: Hiring and Onboarding Talent

Participants will learn the skills and knowledge to interview and select top talent and successfully onboard new employees setting them up for success.

Module: Leading and Developing Talent

Participants will learn the skills and knowledge to effectively coach and develop employees as they navigate through their career at Tufts.  

Module: Manage Your Unit

Participants will learn the skills and knowledge to manage the day to day of their team and unit in a fiscally responsible way.

Module: Effective Communication and Presentation Skills

Participants will learn the skills and best practices for effective communication (verbal and written) and delivering presentations.

Capstone Activity

The capstone activity pulls it all together and must be completed to earn the final certificate! Participants will have the opportunity to demonstrate what they have learned in each of the modules through role-play activities in order to receive their Tufts Manager Development Certificate.
