Unemployment Benefits
In accordance with Massachusetts regulations provided by the Department of Labor, all employees, faculty and other affiliated workers have the right to apply for unemployment compensation benefits. The official policy is listed below, with resources.

In certain circumstances, employees who have permanently left the University may meet eligibility requirements for unemployment benefits. Unemployment benefits are available through the Massachusetts Department of Labor and Workforce Development. Benefit eligibility is determined by Massachusetts Department of Workforce Development based upon specific conditions related to the reason for termination of employment.
Definitions:
This policy applies to all staff, temporary staff, postdoctoral scholars, faculty, independent contractors, affiliates or any other members of the Tufts community, including those hired contractually or who work under faculty or postdoctoral scholar handbooks, or who are otherwise covered by a collective bargaining agreement.
