Upcoming Change to Google Calendar Visibility Settings

Starting May 19, 2025, the default visibility setting for Google Calendar will be updated to “Show free/busy only.” This change, which will take 24-48 hours to take affect, will apply to all Google Calendar users.

Adjusting Your Calendar Settings

To modify your calendar’s visibility preferences, follow these steps:

  1. Click the gear icon at the top of your Google Calendar and select Settings.
  2. Under Settings for my calendar, choose the name of your calendar.
  3. In the right pane, scroll to Access permissions for events to adjust visibility settings—either for all users or within Tufts.

(Note: Please wait the 24-48 hours from the May 19 setting changes to adjust your calendar settings to ensure they are in affect.)
