Workforce Portal & PAF Troubleshooting
Thank you for everyone who has taken the time to provide feedback about the eServe Workforce Portal and changes to PAFs. We've compiled your feedback to provide you with some answers to frequently asked questions we've received.
When to use ePAF, Workforce Portal Request, or Contact TSS
Submit an ePAF in the Workforce Portal for most hiring.
Use ePAF section in the eServe Workforce Portal for Hiring/Account Creation. You can also perform certain inquiries through the ePAF section.

Note: Post Doc and Medical School Hires do not use ePAF. See PDF/Paper PAF section below.
Submit a Request in the Workforce Portal for most other cases.
Submit Personnel Actions in the eServe Workforce portal for most other actions. Follow the links below for detailed job aids.

Issues with Workforce Portal Account Access and Approvals
I need access to the eServe Workforce Portal.
- Log in to eServe. Check to see if you are able to change your view between the WorkForce Portal and Employee Self Service by selecting the text in the middle of the blue bar at the top of your window. If you don't see this option move on to step 2 below.
- Contact your EAD, VP, or Senior Director to confirm that you should have access, then complete an account application and send it to tss@tufts.edu.
I am not receiving approval request notifications that I am expecting.
- Contact your EAD, VP, or Senior Director to confirm that you should have access and receive these notifications.
- Email tss@tufts.edu with the approving authority copied. Include information about the approval process you were expecting to receive notifications for.
Where do I find Time Entry Reports, Reporting Tools, Manager Self-service, etc.?
- Log in to eServe and navigate to the Workforce Portal.
- In the top right corner of your screen, click the compass icon to open the NavBar
- Select the blue page icon called "Navigator" and you will see a list of relevant actions.
- You can also use the search function by clicking the magnifying glass icon in the top right of your screen.
I am receiving approval request notifications that I don't think I should be receiving.
- Do not approve or take any actions.
- Email tss@tufts.edu with details of the transaction, including Employee ID of impacted employee, and anyone else who is receiving the approval request who shouldn't be.
I have access to the Workforce Portal but I am not a manager or approver.
- Do not take any actions in the Workforce Portal area.
- Contact your EAD, VP, or Senior Director to confirm that you should not have access.
- Email tss@tufts.edu with the approving authority copied.
